Since my blog is inappropriately titled “thegreatromance”, I thought that it would be pertinent to include atleast SOME love.. L’AMOUR. I don’t really want to share my “love life” HAHAHAHAHA, so I’ve decided that I’m going to post an “EPIC couple of the week!”, every week. That way, even if my life is completely boring and uneventful, I will always have something to post =) I’m sure that there will be no shortage of couples to talk about. The rules for this section will be LAX: the couples don’t necessarily have to be in a romantic relationship (for example, they could be friends or brothers), they could be extant couples, ex-couples, fictitious couples, or people that I think should become couples etc. What better day to do it on than Friday, date night! <insert bitter, resentful statement here>

Queen Gorgo and King Leonidas of Sparta!
I’ve decided to stick to the whole Spartan-ancient Greek theme this week. I think we’ve heard enough about King Leonidas (watch the movie 300 – go – NOW!), so we will talk about his lovely Queen instead. Gorgo was the daughter of another renowned Spartan King, Cleomenes, and she was no passive or silent woman. She was portrayed in the movie by Lena Headey as being strong and resourceful – this may have been close to the actual truth! The Greek historian Herodotus mentioned her several times in his writings as being a wise advisor to the men around her, even as a young child. Good on ya, Gorgo! For using your wit, charm, and possibly dashing good looks to ensnare one of the most famous Spartan Kings of all time!
At this time, I would like to thank Joanna for sharing this little gem with me. It’s an oldie but a goodie, absolutely adorable! Little Inhwan is making me rethink my position on not having children (well, maybe, don’t really know about this part). AHHHH! I wanted to die from cuteness the first time I saw it. Here is the mini-Junsu portion, he is the cutest one, imo. AND – they actually look alike, unlike some of the other pairings. Enjoy!
