Ohhh the weather outside is frightful…

I think today marks the first major snowfall in Kingston. Those that go to Queen’s will know that the weather in this city is totally shit-tastic. It snows, then rains, then snows, and you end up with a combination of either poo-coloured slush when it gets warm, or slick black ice when everything gets frozen over. I was late for OPS hours kitchen duty at the co-op so I threw on my regular footwear, Converse – WOW what a huge error. Little did I know (I’m lying, I totally knew), canvas is not the least bit water resistant, and nobody had shoveled the sidewalks. To add to this not so smart choice, I steam burned two of my fingers while working in the kitchen. That didn’t really upset me as much, because it was an honest mistake that I ACTUALLY didn’t know any better about. I will take that as a learning experience. Luckily, both fingers are on my non-dominant hand. I would be DEAD otherwise because it stings pretty bad, and to compound the problem, it’s also exam season where frantic yet legible scribing is required! And mom if you’re reading this, don’t worry, it’s just a minor surface burn. You don’t have to call me at this very moment to ask if I’m going to be hospitalized. I thought it was funny when the kitchen co-ordinator handed me an oozing aloe stem non-challantly and remarked – “Yup, we’ve got the pure stuff”.

Okay, on to some real cheery business this time. I was listening to the radio a few mornings ago and they were talking about a statistical survey conducted to find the most beloved and hated Christmas carol. They turned out to be the SAME! I totally called it correctly too, but for me, it was the one that I dread the most, not the one that I love. I thought that I would share my favourite carol! *DRUM ROLL PLEEEEEEEASE* (that’s a hint P.S. ;) ) – “Little Drummer Boy”!  Other lesser favourites are “Opera of the Bells” and “Silver Bells”. I also enjoy “Santa Baby” and “Last Christmas”, but I really don’t think that they’re very traditional : ). There are a few other ones that I love as well, but I can’t remember their names off the top of my head. Every year when I hear Christmas carols, I think back to primary school when we had to sit in the gym after morning assembly and carol off a large overhead as a whole school. Ahhhh, warm fuzzy feelings : )  Even though I know that probably only Joanna will answer (if at all), what are some of your favourites?

SO, can anyone guess what the answer is? To the most hated and loved Christmas carol? Several independent studies found the same result, so I think the answer should be somewhat credible…

It’s…

You know you love me.. x-o-x-o

I just have to say that I absolutely loved the episode of Gossip Girl tonight. It brought a tear to my eye! Those that follow Gossip Girl will surely understand why. I have to say, Gossip Girl is INFINITELY better than the OC. As my friend once said “Why watch the problems of poor people when you can watch the problems of rich people?” Okay, true, kind of lame, but the OC is nothing compared to this show! I hope it has a more successful run as well. If I recall correctly, the OC topped out at four seasons (which was 3 seasons too long if you ask me.. others will even say that it was 4 seasons too long, lol). My only beef with tonight was that with all the build up to Lily’s big secret.. well, in the end the secret was pretty weak imo. Ooooo, yeah, and I’m totally rooting for Dan (despite the fact that he’s been a HUGE IDIOT for most of last season and early this season, I still haven’t forgiven him for Georgina). Sorry Aaron, you’re a cutie, but you can’t get between the Serena-Dan force. (and I just figured out tonight that Aaron is actually Cyrus’ son, silly me ^_________^; I’m sure you will all forgive me for not making the connection between a tall, dark, handsome artist and a short bald man with a nasally voice ^_________^;)

Here are some highlights from tonight’s episode:

Blair is normally very beautiful, but I thought that she looked STUNNING at the wedding.

If you’ve seen the episode already, clicky-clicky, I don’t want to spoil for others…
