I don’t know why I volunteered to work on boxing day, I must have been outside my mind! Since the store that I normally work at wasn’t open for boxing day, I got shipped off to Eaton’s centre. I already sensed trouble when I got hustled onto the subway on my way to work. It was COMPLETE chaos at Eaton’s, I wish that I had taken pictures or something. Anyway, here is a standout convo from today:
Young asian lady wearing heavy make up and a gold vinyl trench coat: *holding 20 different items*
Me: Hi there! Did you know about our sale today?
Lady: NOOOOO, tell me about it (can barely speak English)
Me: Well, just to let you know, you get an additional 25% off all sale merchandise (yeah I know, seriously BIG SHIT)
Lady: OOOOOOOH REALLY? MY HUSBAND WILL BE SO HAPPY TO HEAR THAT! DID YOU HEAR THAT HONEY? *looks over to a suspicious old white man surrounded by shopping bags with book in hand leaning at the entrance of the store*
Husband: *nod but does not look up from exciting sci fi reading material*
Lady: “HONEY, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS SKIRT?”
Husband: *glance* “Uh huh”
Lady: EXCUSE ME, can you help me find that red top? My husband loves it! *points to mannequin* I need it in a small, THANKS!
Me: *retrieves top for lady in 10 seconds*
Lady: “OMG YOU KNOW MY SIZE! YOU’RE SO SWEET!”
Me: “Uh huh…”
Lady: “Honey, she found the top! LOOK, look!” *prances around*
Husband: *does not look up*
All sorts of crazies on boxing day…

sadly, your sale topped aritzia’s
actually we can use aritzia as an adjective to describe bad sales
like how we use rollerball as an adjective to describe bad movies
e.g. “Ah… that was so rollerball”
try it sometime
